It is quite possible to make your own CBD oil at home. Of course, there are pros and cons to doing this. As an advantage, you will control the percentage of CBD as you see fit. On the other hand, on the downside, it requires equipment which is not always at hand and time, a lot of time.

Decarboxylate CBD Flowers
During this first step, you will have to preheat the oven to 110 ° C.
Once this temperature is reached, break the flowers on a baking sheet (e.g. a drip pan). Your pieces should cover the entire plate.
Then start a 40-minute timer, but don’t go far. It will be necessary to turn your preparation every 10 minutes or 4 times in uniform cooking. After this time, you should have brown flowers and dried. If not, leave a little more in the oven. On the other hand, if it looks like this, you will need to equip yourself with a robot to chop the pieces.
Boil the Oil
That’s good for you? Continue following the recipe by catching either coconut oil or olive oil. Here it is according to your preferences.
That’s it? Have you made your choice? Ok. Let’s move on in this case. Pour your chopped CBD flowers into a glass jar that will hold a cup of the oil. If possible, close this cover.
Then place your glass jar in a saucepan with water up to half the glass. The water in the pot should have been brought to a boil. Once everything is ready, you must boil your preparation for 3 hours.
During this time, the water may evaporate. In this case, you can add more water to make up the failure. At the end of the first hour, it will be necessary to shake the jar. Watch out for burns! The container will, of course, be hot.
At the end of the 3 hours, please take out the glass jar and place it on a napkin. It should be allowed to cool for an additional 3 hours.
This second step is to be repeated three days in a row. Good luck, we’ll meet again on the 4th day!
Filter the Oil
Hello again to those who were gone! We continue with the third and last step. Using cheesecloth, filter the first container into a second to remove all flower residue.
There you go, you have your own CBD oil (no need for an extra 3 days!). Now you are free to use it as you wish.
Is it good for Animals?
CBD oil and CBD, in general, will behave in the same way in humans and animals or rather mammals. Whether it’s a cat, dog, or another animal, CBD will cling to endocannabinoid receptors that are distributed throughout the body. All mammals are made up of the same system. However, what about the effects of CBD? Are they positive or negative?
The positive effects of CBD in Animals
Again, like for humans. CBD could have a far more positive impact than a negative impact on the body (and mind) of our furry friends.
Indeed, CBD oil would be able to calm and relax your animals. Thus, a stressed cat or dog could be helped thanks to the CBD molecule. This is particularly interesting when you own animals that find themselves very stressed when leaving for work. Thus, you avoid possible destruction.
Painful joints, especially due to age and osteoarthritis, could be alleviated by some scientists. Therefore, CBD oil would help you fight against a large number of problems in your pet. Anxiety, infections, pain, symptoms caused by old age, epileptic seizures, cancer are all diseases where CBD has a role to play.
However, we repeat, CBD oil cannot be considered a medicine. It is a food supplement that helps to fight against certain diseases. As with us, it is always best to take the advice of a veterinarian into account. In this way, you will avoid any problems.
The Negative Effects Of CBD in Animals
Animals of one species to another, or animals of the same species, will not react in the same way. The greatest vigilance must therefore be applied to the slightest worrying sign on their part.
Generally, the most common side effects will be drowsiness, low blood pressure, diarrhoea or dry mouth. CBD is not a psychoactive molecule; unlike THC, there is no risk of a high effect in them.
Recommended Dosage
Your animals will not be able to speak. And that’s a shame, we agree! That is why, as with the negative effects, you should watch out for the effects of dosage on your pet. To take as little risk as possible, we recommend switching to a low-grade CBD oil. A percentage of 3% is more than enough.
However, you can dose as you wish by decreasing or increasing the number of drops given. The advice remains the same, start with the minimum and only increase if you don’t see any changes (negative or positive).
